GÁBOR ARION KUDÁSZ
Born 1978 in Budapest, Hungary. Lives and works in Budapest, Hungary. Studied at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest.
Gábor Arion Kudász’s work is centred on long-term projects with strong elements of both documentary and staged photography. After numerous work groups dedicated to urban development, environmental issues and changing landscapes in general, his interest is becoming increasingly focused on diverse forms of human co-existence and on mechanisms of recollection.
For wienerberger, Gábor Arion Kudász travelled to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia, where he visited several production plants. With employees at these sites, he set out to find a visual system describing human proportions and ambitions, working on the assumption that these characteristics are embodied in the primal element, the brick. At the same time, the brick could also be seen as a metaphor for standardization. The outcome is an associative network of images that comprised the point of departure for a comprehensive photographic and theoretical investigation of the human scale.
