Born 1980 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Lives and works in Budapest, Hungary. Studied at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest, as well as the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle, Paris.

Peter Puklus utilises a variety of media and techniques that he combines in different ways. His principal medium is photography, but sculpture, objects, installations and drawings are also incorporated into his oeuvre. The majority of his works are made in domestic settings or in

the studio; they comprise carefully composed images, arrangements of everyday objects, seemingly informal installations and sculptures. At the same time, his series tell stories reflecting basic human concerns, and their origins are often of a highly personal nature.

The invitation from wienerberger to participate in INSIGHTS provided a crucial impulse for a new, wide-reaching project with the title, The Hero Mother – How to build a house. Here, the artist is concerned with the aspirations and challenges of a young family, in particular the expectations resting on him as a young father to provide a stable environment for his family – the construction of a house can be regarded as a symbol of this process.
