Anastasia Khoroshilova is a Russian artist and photographer who has lived in Germany for many years. Portraits are in most cases the essential component of her extensive series, which deal sensitively with demographic, sociological and cultural realities and shifts – often in her former homeland of Russia.

For the INSIGHTS, Anastasia Khoroshilova travelled to Kiprevo, 130 kilometres from Moscow, where wienerberger operates a brick production site. With the help of the employees at the plant, she identified families in which several members are or were employed in brick production. The result is a series of portraits of nine families whose personal history is linked to the company in several ways. Short texts accompanying the works have been written by the families themselves and describe their personal relationship to wienerberger.
